More Love Letters

I did my civic duty yesterday and reported for jury duty. I arrived at the courthouse prepared for lots of sitting and waiting (no moss grows under me!), and, boy, it's a good thing I did. I stamped a stack of images to take along with me and spent five hours coloring in the jury pool (which sounds pretty splashy, tropical, and fun, doesn't it? I can assure you, however, that it is none of these!). I love it when I can turn potentially wasted time into productive time! (That's not to say that serving on jury duty is a waste of time--I'm happy to do my part, and I take pride in upholding my privileges and responsibilities as a U.S. citizen.)

Anyway, when I returned home, I put together this Valentine card with one of the images I worked on at the courthouse. It's perfect for this week's Flourishes new release challenge, Love Letters.

I used two Flourishes stamp sets: A Year in Flowers 2 and  Tag Lines. I was lucky to find a scrap of lace trim on my work table that was just the right length to add to this card :).

Even though I did a lot of sitting around, jury duty really exhausted me. I'm plum worn out today! I do believe there is a nap in my future ;). That sounds like a pretty big slice of bliss to me!

Thanks for dropping by for a visit! Have a super weekend,
Emily

Oh, your jury duty card is beautiful, Emily. :-) Just think of sitting there twiddling your thumbs while waiting. That would make you feel GUILTY. Yikes! I've had my time on jury duty but don't think I was cardmaking then. You gave us all a great idea.

Sounds like you were not actually picked for jury duty, eh? That's good! LOVE this love card you're showing today. It's so pretty in its every detail. Have a wonderful weekend, Emily, and thanks so much for your time on the phone the other day. I needed an ear to listen!

I was called 3x for jury duty in the same month. No lie. Even the "people" I had to call into to see if my numbers had to show up were perplexed. I would have wasted time staring at people.

Love your card! The pinks! The stitching and that gorgeous image!

Oh Emily you are so smart and prepared! Did you raise any eyebrows? It seems I do when I work on papercrafts. Ha! Your card is gorgeous and time well spent on two accounts.

Great use of your down time. I love your card and the sweet rose you coloured to add to it. Your stitching always amazes me. It's perfect everytime!

I have received notices twice and each time the day before I was to report I was told a jury wasn't required since they had changed their mind and plead guilty. They must be scared of having to convince me they are innocent! lol

Hope you are having a great weekend! :)

I'm glad you were able to get some coloring in during your wait. I remember getting a lot of knitting done last time I had jury duty.

You are a productive and efficient girl and I'm very proud of you! Your card turned out to be sensational, so it was time well spent!! (I do hope, however, that you wore your sunscreen in the jury pool!)

Stunning card! Your coloring is out of this world! I love how you were able to bide your time productively :) I hope you were able to reward yourself with that nap ;)

I can't stand waiting around with nothing to do - it always floors me to head to the dr's office, where a 2 hour plus wait is common, and see a dozen people there sitting staring at nothing. How do they not go insane? Rob & I have both been called in the last year, but both cases have plead out before we had to go in.
I absolutely love the papers, the stitching, the pearls, and the amazing colouring you did! And how perfect that the lace was just waiting for you :)
